Panem et Circenses: NASA Edition

From Juvenal’s (Decimus Iunius Iuvenalis) Satire X: “… the mob

That used to grant power, high office, the legions, everything,

Curtails its desires, and reveals its anxiety for two things only,

Bread and circuses.

Pay no attention to the $15 trillion federal debt, the $100+ trillion present value of federal liabilities, the unfunded public employee pension fiasco of the states and municipalities, etc. A stranger won an event at the olympics and NASA wasted a few billion dollars that the nation cannot afford, thus America is great!

On a positive note, here is a link to the song “Panem et Circenses” by the great progressive metal band Adagio.
